# Team Management

In Auto-Respond, teammates are granted access on a **per-source** basis. There is no global “team” page - instead, every source has its own **Access and Permissions** list that controls who can see and manage that source, its leads, and its messaging settings.

## Getting here

1. Open **Sources** from the **Auto Responder** section of the sidebar.
2. Find the source you want to grant access to.
3. On the source card, click the **Permissions** button (shown with a group icon and a count of current accounts).

This opens the **Access and Permissions** dialog for that source.

## Granting a teammate access to a source

### Open the source’s Permissions dialog

On the **Sources** page, click **Permissions** on the source card. A dialog titled **\[Source name] Access and Permissions** appears.

### Add a new teammate

Click **Add** at the bottom of the dialog. A new blank card is added to the list with an **Email** field and a **Permissions** dropdown.

### Enter their email

Type the email address the teammate uses (or will use) to sign in to Auto-Respond. The field validates that the address is a well-formed email.

### Pick their permission level

Use the **Permissions** dropdown to choose a level. The default is **Manager**. See [Permission levels](#permission-levels) below for what each level allows.

### Save

Click **Save** to apply the changes. If any email address is invalid you’ll be prompted to fix it before the dialog closes.

If the teammate doesn’t already have an Auto-Respond account with that email, they’ll see the source appear in their account once they sign up or sign in with that email.

## Permission levels

The **Permissions** dropdown on each access row controls what that teammate can do on the source:

- **Manager** (default) - full day-to-day access to the source: read and reply to conversations, add memos, change lead statuses, edit Messaging Settings, manage integrations, and use the voice agent. A Manager cannot change the source’s own access list.
- A higher permission level is also available in the dropdown for accounts that additionally need to manage the access list themselves (add / remove / change levels on other accounts for the same source).

ℹ️

Permissions are per-source. Granting access to one source does not give a teammate access to any other source.

## Removing a teammate

1. Open the source’s **Permissions** dialog from the Sources page.
2. Find the teammate’s card in the list.
3. Click **Remove** on their card.
4. Click **Save** to apply. Their access to this source is cut off immediately.

You cannot remove your own email from a source’s access list from within that dialog.

## Changing a teammate’s permission level

1. Open the source’s **Permissions** dialog from the Sources page.
2. Change the **Permissions** dropdown on their card.
3. Click **Save**.

## Billing and team size

There is no per-seat charge for teammates. Billing is based on the number of connected sources, not the number of people with access. See the [Pricing page](https://auto-respond.com/docs/pricing/) for source pricing.

## Security

- Each teammate signs in with their own email address and password.
- Removing a teammate from a source cuts off their access to that source immediately.
- If a teammate forgets their password, they can reset it from the sign-in screen.

## Common tasks

### Give a new hire access to one source

1. Open **Sources**, click **Permissions** on that source.
2. Click **Add**, enter their work email, leave the level as **Manager**.
3. Save.

### Give someone access to every source

Open the **Permissions** dialog on each source and add them there. There is no one-click way to grant access to every source at once.

### Remove someone who left the company

1. For each source they had access to, open **Permissions**, click **Remove** next to their email, then **Save**.
