Monday.com
The Monday.com integration creates an item on a Monday.com board every time a new lead comes through Auto-Respond. You choose which board to use, which group within the board to drop new items into, and how each Auto-Respond field maps to a Monday column — so your team’s board stays organized exactly how you already use it.
The Monday.com card is on any source’s Messaging Settings → Integrations tab.
What gets synced
Every lead pushed into Monday.com creates a new item with:
- First name / last name (usually combined into the item name)
- Phone number
- Postal code
- The inquiry / notes
- Source (when Include source name is on)
Exactly which columns these land in depends on your field mapping (see below).
Connecting Monday.com
Open the integration
In Auto-Respond, open the source → Messaging Settings → Integrations tab → Monday.com card.
Paste your Monday.com API token
Click Connect and paste your Monday.com API token. You can generate a token in Monday.com under your profile → Developers → My access tokens.
Save and validate
Click Save, then click Validate Connection. If the token is wrong, Monday’s error is shown inline.
Pick a Board
Once connected, a Board dropdown appears with the boards available to the connected user. Pick the board where new leads should appear.
Default: Auto Respond | Leads (if you have a board with that name, it’s picked automatically).
Pick a Group
Then pick a Group on that board — groups are the colored sections you already have on your Monday board (e.g., “New Leads”, “To Qualify”). New items from Auto-Respond will be created in this group.
Map your fields
On the card you’ll see the list of Auto-Respond fields and a dropdown next to each one to map it to one of your board’s columns. For example, map Phone to your phone column, Email to your email column, Postal code to a text column, and so on. Save when you’re done.
Turn on the Enable toggle
Nothing is sent to Monday.com until Enable is on.
Options
Enable
Turns the integration on or off for this source. Default: off.
Inherit from parent
Only shown on a location with a parent business. When on, the location uses the parent’s Monday settings (token, board, group, mapping). When off, it overrides them per location.
Board
Which Monday.com board new items are created on. Default: Auto Respond | Leads if that board exists on your account; otherwise pick any board.
Group
Which group within the selected board new items land in. You can reorganize the items on Monday after they’re created — changes to the group after the fact don’t affect Auto-Respond.
Field mapping
Customize which Monday column each Auto-Respond field writes to. If you don’t map a field, that field simply isn’t written to Monday — nothing else on the item is affected. Updating the mapping only affects new items going forward; existing items aren’t rewritten.
Create customer only when contact info is captured
Default: off.
- When on — An item is only created after a phone number or email is collected.
- When off — An item is created at first contact, even without contact info.
Create only for new leads
Default: off.
- When on — Matching items in Monday (by phone/email in your mapped columns) are skipped.
- When off — Existing matches are updated.
Include source name
Default: off.
- When on — The source name is added to the Monday item (typically in the notes/description column).
- When off — Source isn’t included.
Validate Connection
Re-tests your API token.
Disconnect
Removes the API token, the board selection, the group, and the field mapping. Confirmation required.
Matching and deduplication
Matching depends on which Monday columns you’ve mapped to phone and email. If those columns aren’t mapped, duplicate items can be created on repeat inquiries.
Disconnecting
Open the Monday.com card → click Disconnect → confirm. The token, board choice, group choice, and mapping are all cleared. Items already on your Monday board are untouched.
Troubleshooting
- “Validation failed” / invalid token — The API token is wrong or was revoked. Generate a new one in Monday.com.
- Board dropdown is empty — The connected user has no boards, or the token doesn’t have permission to list boards. Generate a token scoped to a user who can see the board.
- Items going to the wrong place — Check your Board and Group selections.
- Fields not populating on the item — That field isn’t mapped. Go to the field mapping section of the card and map it to a column.
- Duplicates — Map Monday’s phone and email columns in the field mapping and turn on Create only for new leads.
