Agent Configuration documentation guide
A visual guide to the Agent Configuration documentation, covering the setup, configuration, and workflow details explained on this page. Documentation illustration for Agent Configuration.

Agent Configuration

The agent editor is a tabbed dialog with six tabs, in this order: Basic Info, Knowledge Base, Scheduling, Timing, Advanced, and Integrations. This page is the full reference - every field, every toggle, and what each one does.

Getting here

In Auto-Respond, go to Voice AgentVoice Agents → pick an agent and click Edit, or click Create New Agent.

Agent types

Every agent picks one type when it is created. The type affects which fields appear and how the agent is used.

Tab 1 - Basic Info

Display Name

Agent Type

Business

Phone Number

Connected Sources (Lead Calling only)

Company Name

Agent Name (AI assistant name)

The name customizes an AI persona only. It cannot be used to claim the agent is human, deny that it is AI, or present it as the business owner or a human employee.

Voice

Custom Greeting

The agent always identifies itself as AI. On every outbound call, a non-overridable platform instruction requires the first spoken sentence to be Hi, this is {agent_name}, AI Assistant from {business_name}. The platform inserts that sentence before your greeting and does not rewrite the stored greeting text. There is no setting to turn this off, and no greeting, instruction, example, or knowledge-base content can remove or delay it.

The platform identity rule applies to every call: the agent never claims to be human, the business owner, or an employee, and answers honestly if asked whether it is AI, a bot, robot, virtual, automated, or recorded. The default inbound greeting introduces the agent as an AI Assistant too; keep that identification when you customize it.

Tab 2 - Knowledge Base

Despite the tab name, this is where the agent’s core behavior lives - the main goal, reference documents, pricing rules, promotion, Q&A, and (for batch campaigns) closing-sentence prompts.

Tab 6 - Integrations

Connects the agent to your CRM and messenger tools so call events (summaries, bookings, transcripts) flow out automatically. This tab has two sub-tabs: Messengers and CRM. See Voice Agent Integrations for the full list and per-integration setup.

ℹ️

For Lead Calling agents, integrations are configured at the source level (on the Sources page), not on the agent itself. The Integrations tab shows a notice linking you there.
