SmartMoving
The SmartMoving integration is purpose-built for moving companies. On top of standard contact info, it captures move-specific details — origin address, destination address, move date, and how the lead heard about you — so your SmartMoving pipeline contains everything a mover needs to quote the job.
The SmartMoving card is on any source’s Messaging Settings → Integrations tab.
What gets synced
Every lead pushed into SmartMoving includes:
Contact information
- First name
- Last name
- Phone number
- Postal code
Move-specific details (when captured during the conversation)
- Origin address info (moving from)
- Destination address info (moving to)
- Move date
- Referral source
Connecting SmartMoving
Open the integration
In Auto-Respond, open the source → Messaging Settings → Integrations tab → SmartMoving card.
Paste your SmartMoving provider API key
Click Connect and paste your SmartMoving provider API key. You can find or generate this key in your SmartMoving account settings.
Save and validate
Click Save, then click Validate Connection. If the key is wrong, SmartMoving’s error is shown inline.
Turn on the Enable toggle
Nothing is sent to SmartMoving until Enable is on.
Options
Enable
Turns the integration on or off for this source. Default: off.
Inherit from parent
Only shown on a location with a parent business. When on, the location uses the parent’s SmartMoving settings. When off, it overrides them.
Create customer only when contact info is captured
Default: off.
- When on — The SmartMoving lead is only created once the customer has shared a phone number or email.
- When off — The lead is created at first contact, even before contact info is shared.
Moving dispatchers typically want a phone number before quoting — turning this on is the common setup.
Create only for new leads
Default: off.
- When on — Matching customers already in SmartMoving are skipped.
- When off — Existing records are updated with new info Auto-Respond collects.
Include source name
Default: off.
- When on — The source name is attached to the SmartMoving lead so your team can see where it came from.
- When off — Source isn’t included.
Validate Connection
Re-tests your API key.
Disconnect
Removes the API key. Confirmation required.
Matching and deduplication
Matching is done on phone and email. With Create only for new leads on, existing customers are never modified.
About the move-specific fields
The origin, destination, move date, and referral source are only written to SmartMoving if they were actually captured during the Auto-Respond conversation. If the lead didn’t mention their destination, for example, that field is left blank on the SmartMoving record — it is never fabricated.
Disconnecting
Open the SmartMoving card → click Disconnect → confirm. The API key is cleared.
Troubleshooting
- “Validation failed” / invalid key — The provider API key is wrong or was revoked. Generate a new one in SmartMoving.
- No leads appearing — Confirm Enable is on, check Create customer only when contact info is captured, and confirm the provider key has permission to create leads.
- Move details missing from the SmartMoving lead — Those fields are only filled in when the conversation captured them. Check the inquiry — if the lead never shared a move date, it will be blank on SmartMoving too.
- Duplicates — Enable Create only for new leads if duplicates are showing up.
