Facebook Lead Ads
Facebook Lead Ads is a separate source type from Facebook Messenger. Where Messenger is a two-way chat, Lead Ads is a one-time form submission — a prospect clicks your Facebook ad, fills out a lead form, and submits it. Auto-Respond captures that submission and can send a confirmation, push the lead to your CRM, and notify your team.
There is no chat on a Lead Ads source. Because Lead Ads aren’t conversational, the usual messaging tabs (Conversation Setup, Follow-ups, Timing) are hidden. Only Integrations and Contact Info are shown.
What gets captured from Facebook Lead Ads
Whatever the Lead Ads form collected is passed through to Auto-Respond, typically including:
- Customer name
- Phone number
- Any custom fields the form asked about (service needed, budget, timing, etc.)
The exact fields depend on how you built the Lead Ads form in Facebook Ads Manager.
Connecting a Facebook Lead Ads source
Open Sources
In Auto-Respond, go to Sources and click Add Facebook Lead Ads.
Sign in to Facebook and authorize
You’ll be redirected to Facebook. Sign in with the Facebook account that manages the Page running the Lead Ads and grant Auto-Respond permission to receive Lead Ads submissions for that Page. Your Facebook password is never shared with Auto-Respond — only a secure access token is returned after you approve.
Pick which Pages to activate
After authorizing, you’ll see a list of the Pages your Facebook account manages. Activate each Page whose Lead Ads submissions you want Auto-Respond to capture. Each activated Page becomes its own Lead Ads source with its own Integrations, Contact Info settings, and billing line.
Review activation
The Sources page now shows each activated Lead Ads source as a separate card with a green Active status, the Page name, and a link to its configuration.
What’s different about this source
- No two-way conversation. Lead Ads are form fills, not chats. Nothing is “replied to” in Messenger when a Lead Ads submission comes in.
- Only Integrations and Contact Info tabs are shown. Conversation Setup, Follow-ups, and Timing are hidden because there’s no chat to configure.
- Confirmation is optional. If you want to acknowledge the submission, configure the Contact Info tab to send an automated confirmation by phone, email, or SMS when a submission comes in with those details.
- One source per Page. Each Facebook Page running Lead Ads is a separate source.
- The form determines the data. If a field isn’t on your Lead Ads form, it won’t arrive in Auto-Respond. Add fields to the form in Facebook Ads Manager if you need more data.
What you can configure
A Lead Ads source has a narrower configuration than other sources:
- Integrations — push each submission to your CRM (HubSpot, PipeDrive, Workiz, GoHighLevel, HousecallPro, SmartMoving, Salesforce, Monday.com, Zapier) and notify your team via SMS, WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, or email. See Integrations for the full list.
- Contact Info — configure an optional confirmation message (phone, email, or SMS) that goes out when a submission is received with those details. See Contact Info.
Pricing
A Facebook Lead Ads source is $19/month. See Pricing for the full table.
Troubleshooting
- Authorization failed — Make sure you’re signed into the Facebook account that runs the ad campaign and approved the Lead Ads access permission.
- A Page is missing after connecting — Only Pages your Facebook account has Lead Ads permission for will appear. Check your Page role on Facebook and reconnect.
- Submissions aren’t arriving — Confirm the source is Active, that the Lead Ads campaign is live on Facebook, and that your Facebook authorization hasn’t expired. Also check that your Lead Ads form is attached to an active ad.
- Lead is missing fields — Only fields present on the Lead Ads form are captured. Add the missing field to the form in Facebook Ads Manager, then re-test.
- CRM isn’t receiving the lead — Open the source’s Integrations tab and confirm your CRM integration is enabled and its connection validates.
- Billing warning on the card — Open Billing and resolve the payment issue. The source won’t capture new submissions until billing is current.
